In the hoop key chain card holders! If you are new to embroidery or haven't experienced the in the hoop fun, this design is definitely for you! These card holders are a fun and easy project for everyone and make a fantastic and functional gift. Almost every color change in this design is a different step in creating the keychain.
Materials:
Tear away stabilizer
Spray adhesive
Ribbon (almost any width) 2" long
2 pieces of 3 1/2" x 5" fabric
1 piece 3 1/2 x 9 fabric folded in half wrong sides together (to make 3 1/2 x 4 1/2) and press
small piece of fabric for applique center
1 piece 2 1/4 x 3 3/4 thin cotton batting
Hoop the tear away and sew the first step on the stabilizer only. This is the die line.
Next, lightly spray the batting with the spray adhesive and place in the center of the die line.
Then spay the spray adhesive on to the backside of one of the 3 1/2" x 5" of fabric and center it over the batting.
Next, will be a color change for quilting of the fabric.
Next is the applique center. Stitch the next stitch which is a die line for the applique. Then the tack down, the center letter and last the satin stitch.
Take the folded piece of fabric a place the folded side 1/4 inch below the top stitching.
Next is the bottom stitch.
Take the ribbon fold it in half and place cut ends up at the center of the folded fabric a half inch above the folded seam and tape.
Then center the second 3 1/2" x 5" piece of fabric right side down on top.
Next is the final tackdown stitch.
Un-hoop and trim the fabric 1/8" from the tackdown stitch. Turn inside out and you're done!
