Feltie clip covers are the best! You can transform a plain snap barrette into something amazing in no time at all. In our tutorial we are using two peices of felt but feel free to experiment with cotton, flannel or even fleece. I just try to make it as cute as possible! You can adorn the clip cover with a feltie face or leave it plain and use contrasting thread to make it stand out. I love vintage buttons and they look great sewn onto the cover. I love these covers because the sky is the limit from cutesy animals to feathers and bling you can create something for anyone.
Materials:
Tear away stabilizer
Craft felt
Scissors
Snap barrettes
First hoop only the stabilizer. The pattern is programed to fist stitch out a die line first so you can cut the felt to the approximate size.
Cut two pieces of felt and lay it over the die line then start the next stitch. Lightly hold the felt while the redwork stitches out.
Next, cut around the redwork leaving about an eight of an inch or smaller edge, depending on your preference.
To insert the clip, cut a thin slice in the back side of the feltie about a quarter inch from the stitch.
Slide the barrette in and pull the fabric over the back part of the clip.
And voila!
Thanks for the great ‘how to’ and for your nice freebies too!
